A multi-market model for the Tajik Ministry of Economic Development and Trade
HFFA Research and the Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO) have recently been contracted by the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) to develop a tool to analyze the agricultural sector of Tajikistan. The tool is aimed at providing decision makers with detailed information on some of the most important interdependencies influencing the Tajik agricultural sector.
As outcome of this assignment the team at HFFA Research has developed a dedicated partial equilibrium multi-market model for the agricultural sector of Tajikistan. The model will be used by staff both in the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, as well as the Ministry of Agriculture of Tajikistan. Our team just returned from a one-week workshop in Dushanbe, where it presented the final tool, and introduced the ministry staff as well as GIZ experts on how to use it to its full potential.
