What is the impact of different farming methods on biodiversity? New study results in English out now

The English version of one of our latest studies dealing with the impact of different land management systems on regional and global biodiversity is now available.

The study, published as HFFA Research Paper 04/2016, takes a closer look at the biodiversity impacts of two different agricultural production approaches, namely conventional and organic agricultural production. By comparing both approaches in terms of their yield differences, the study derives their potential impact on German and global biodiversity.

The study also stresses the relevance of considering a global perspective when decisions on maintaining and improving the protection of specific species and biodiversity at large are pending in a national context. To preserve global biodiversity, the authors call for a more balanced discussion which considers all available production technologies.
