HFFA Research has launched the study “Analysis of the effects of a tax or levy on plant protection products in Germany” in cooperation with Bayer CropScience Deutschland GmbH.

There have been many calls in the public debate for a tax or levy on plant protection products (PPP) in hopes of steering their application in a certain direction. Thus, this study employs an economic impact analysis to examine various effects of a potential tax or levy on PPPs in Germany.

Two scenarios are applied in this analysis: a flat tax rate across all PPPs as well as a tax that distinguishes between active ingredients.
