The Natura 2000 network is central to the EU’s strategy for protecting biodiversity. In Lithuania, optimizing its management—particularly through agricultural practices—has become a national priority. To inform this process, Lithuanian authorities and the EU LIFE Programme initiated a study to gather and apply lessons from across Europe.
HFFA Research was awarded the tender to review EU-wide best practices in innovative agri-environmental measures that contribute to biodiversity conservation. The study identifies transferable approaches and assesses their relevance for Lithuanian conditions. Based on these insights, we will develop tailored policy recommendations to strengthen biodiversity outcomes in Lithuania’s agricultural sector.
