The HFFA Research Paper on the economic and environmental effects of modern poultry meat production is now also available in English. It is entitled Societal benetifs of modern poultry meat production in Germany and the EU – An economic and environmental analysis and authored by Harald von Witzke (HFFA e. V.), Hans-Wilhelm Windhorst (WING, Vechta University) and Steffen Noleppa (HFFA Research GmbH).
The study analyses the benefits of modern poultry meat production to society at large by quantifying the opportunity costs of moving to alternative methods referred to in the pertinent literature as extensive and ecological. The results demonstrate that the economic and environmental benefits of conventional modern poultry meat production are huge.
